Multi-tower solar arrays: Maximize Absorption!

There's a new concept in solar energy gathering called the multi-tower solar array (MTSA) that is making the best possible usage of available solar field areas. One of the first power stations using mirrors to gather sunlight was the Themis solar power tower. It's just logical to see that a given solar panel can only absorb sunlight that shines upon it. The sunlight that "misses" a given panel will go on to hit the ground, a rooftop or whatever else may be there. If you have only a limited amount of space with which to gather solar energy, then you need to consider implementing a multi-tower solar array.

MTSAs are solar power gathering structures that move on two separate axes. The solar panels thereon are able to be individually point-focused to differing angles and positions to minimize problems associated with shading and blocking. The result is to epitomize the individual absorption of each panel and thereby the entire array in general. Sunlight is trapped, bounced, gathered, A vision of multi tower solar arraysharnessed and converted with very little loss occurring.

Heliostats are reflective instruments that focus a sunbeam in a particular direction. They are normally controlled by timers, but can also be adjusted manually. In an array of solar panels, sometimes the heliostats have an overlapping effect that causes inefficiency in terms of Sun-gathering maximization. The multi-tower solar array is the newest and most effective solution for this overlapping problem. Through observation and experimental manipulation, individual heliostats can be positioned to maximize the energy gathered for a given location in a given time period.

It is an exciting time to be alive and watch as solar energy provision technologies like the multi-tower solar array are researched and developed. In the near future, we will continue to see new and innovative solar technologies arise to continually embrace clean, renewable and eco-friendly energy provision. Enjoy it!
