Button Cell Solar Battery Charger - Portable Power on the Go

Button cell solar battery chargers are a convenient and environmentally-safe way to recharge small, thin button cell batteries. Tiny button batteries such as Alkaline, Mercury, Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, and Zinc Air provide 1.2 to 1.5 volts but are very expensive to replace. Furthermore, they are not normally rechargeable. They are often used in hearing aids, cameras, watches, handheld games, calculators, radios, and other electronic devices that need to keep a slim profile.

The very compact nature of button cell batteries is perfect as power sources for electronic apparatus that have integrated circuits but need to stay small. These electronic devices are commonly designed with recesses that hold the miniature button cell battery snugly in a horizontal position with an easy-to-remove battery cover for when the button cell battery needs replacing. Button cell batteries are themselves small energy cells with a round shape that give them the name "button" cell. They are divided into four groups including silver oxide cells, mercury cells, lithium cells, and alkali-manganese cells.

In three to five hours, a button cell solar battery charger will have a button cell battery recharged and ready to use. A button cell battery in a hearing aid, for example, can be charged up to 14 times. This reduces replacing batteries at $25 a month to spending less than $4.00 a month. Most button cell solar battery chargers available in the market today even come with a suction cup that allows you to charge your batteries on the window of your home, office, or car.

Unlike larger photovoltaic modules and arrays which, while cost-effective in the long-run, can be expensive to install or integrate, portable solar power such as button cell solar battery charges are relatively inexpensive and can be brought anywhere such as land, sea, or air. You can even take it when you go on a hike or camping and need something important like your hearing aid or radio reliably powered-up.
