Showering Outdoors - Solar Shower Tent.

It can be very difficult to heat enough water to bathe when you are out in the wilderness camping, if you are camping at a camping ground then you might have access to a shower, however if you are camping outdoors then it may be much more difficult. There is the option of using solar shower tents; these are showers which are powered by the sun.

If you're not using a camper van or other recreational vehicles then it can be very tricky to find ways to take a warm shower. It's not always a good idea to bathe in streams and lakes to bathe as any soap used can be harmful to nature. A much better solution is a shower tent.

Shower tents are so popular because they provide privacy, also when using solar tents there is a supply of hot water which makes it comfortable when bathing. Not all solar systems have to be very complicated; in fact solar showers are one of the simplest solar systems available.

You simply fill a bag up with water, which you will hang inside the tent. This bag will be black to absorb as much sunlight as possible which in turn will heat the water. This means that the water is naturally heated using the power of the sun which can then be used for washing. The only problem with these is that it can take some time for even a small amount of water to heat up, plus you don't get the level of controls like you do on your shower at home!

It's not possible to get the water hot enough for a shower during rainy or overcast days; this means that you will need to carefully plan when to take your shower! If you take your shower on the wrong day, or at the wrong time then it may be too cold!

If you want something that will always work then you might want to consider using battery or gas powered portable shower tents, these do not rely on the sun and so will work at any time of the day. Camping solar shower tents are often more popular because they are cheaper and also easier to transport.

The bag is simply hung at the top of the shower tent with a small tube and nozzle connected to it, when you want to have a shower all you need to do is turn the tap, and gravity will assist the water to fall onto you. You'll have plenty of privacy to shower in comfort; the bags normally hold around 5 gallons, which means you don't need to refill the tank when you've got shampoo in your hair! Larger gas and battery powered water heaters are capable of heating up to 30 gallons of water.
